Shaw Bertram Logging Camp - Klamath Falls, Oregon Abt. 1930
Written on the back by my g/uncle Robt. Bryan Gess: "This is the
Shay and jammer. They loaded from 16 to 22 cars of logs a day
last winter."

These are very sad photos, my g/uncle Bob was killed shortly
after these were taken. Apparently, the jammer broke and the logs
rolled over him, crushing and killing him instantly. He was 30 yrs. old.

The reverse side of this one reads: "This is the cook house and bunk house
of one of the three camps." I've been told that this bldgs. were collapsible and were easily
dismantled for transport to various locations.
