Hi Roxann,
I saw your 'Fergus County, Montana Census For School Children' on the Fergus
County Rootsweb Page. You advised that information about correct spellings is
desired.
In School District No. 35, those three DRUNKARD children should read DRINKARD.
I think Vero should read Vyro too. His name is spelled Vyro on the State
Death Index record (place where he died). Their father, Charles Arthur
DRINKARD, was a 1st cousin of my great grandma.
In School District No. 19, that Morene SHORTLEY should read Maurine. Her
mother, Estella Bertha May DRINKARD, was another 1st cousin of my great
grandma. Maurine's father was Charles 'Edward' SHORTLEY. He was the son of
Benjamin SHORTLEY and Susan HATFIELD. The names of Edward's parents were
found on a record of his marriage.
Most of this information can also be found in a book I have called 'THE
DRINKARDS IN THE US' by Charles Arthur DRINKARD. I just found Ed and Estella
SHORTLEY in the 1910 and 1920 US Census at School District 19 too.
