JOHN MULDRICK was born in northern Ireland on the 23rd of June, 1838, of Scotch-Irish parents. He came to the United States when he was 21 years of age, in 1859. Not much is known about his early yearson the east coast. He was initiated into the Masonic Lodge of North Bennington, Vermont in 1860. It is not known what brough him to Grant County, but it is suspected that his formal education in engineering, chemistry, and business brought him to the area during the gold rush era. John Muldrick was well established financially prior to his arrival in Grant County. He was an investor in land and half owner of the Over- holdt-Muldrick Mercantile of Canyon City.

John Muldrick married Mennie McLaughlin on the 10th of July, 1884 in Canyon City, Oregon. She was the sister to Margaret McLaughlin Wood (Mrs. I.H. Wood). To this couple were born two children.

Mable Elizabeth Muldrick (February 12, 1886) in Canyon City, Oregon. She was educated in Canyon City and at St. Francis Academy in Baker, Oregon. She graduated from Monmouth Normal School with an advanced degree in education. For many years she taught school in Canyon City. Upon her retirement, she resided in Canyon City and Corvallis, Oregon. Mable never married. She was active in St. Thomas Episcopal Church and Julia Chapter #56, Order of the Eastern Star at Canyon City. In her later life she moved to Corvallis to be near her neice, Elizabeth Muldrick Tharp (Mrs. C.L. Tharp). Mable died on the 8th of February, 1975 in Corvallis, Oregon. She was buried next to her parents in Canyon City.

John Armor Muldrick was born on the 15th of July, 1889 in Canyon City. He was raised and educated there, and was a graduate of Oregon Agriculture College. After his education was finished, he returned to Grant County and went into banking and stock raising. John A. Muldrick married Irma Fields on the 14th of July, 1915. She was the daughter of Walter S. and Eliza Lucas Fields. John and Irma Fields Muldrick had one daughter, Elizabeth Jane Muldrick (Mrs. C.L. Tharp). John died on October 23, 1918, of pneumonia that was a result of the flu epidemic of that time. He is buried at Canyon City cemetery with his parents.

John Muldrick died on September 14, 1899 and his wife, Jennie, died on December 06, 1912. Both are buried at Canyon City, Oregon.
